Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to join their team in Johannesburg. This full-time, permanent role involves contributing to developing and implementing accounting systems, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will support the finance department by collecting, processing, recording, and reconciling financial data. You will verify source documentation’s validity, completeness, and accuracy while maintaining complete records of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information is central to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial accounting processes.
- Prepare and analyse monthly reports, including actual vs budget comparisons.
- Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage cashbook processing and maintain proper records.
- Oversee debtors’ control and implement effective credit control measures.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard financial data.
- Develop and maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 certification.
- Relevant tertiary education in Accounting (Degree or equivalent).
- CIMA certification (advantageous).
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a financial role.
- Proven experience and knowledge of Sage Evolution software.
- Solid understanding of accounting practices, processes, and stock management.
