Senior Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Technician to ensure the efficient maintenance and compliance of utility systems that support critical production areas. This includes maintaining systems like purified water, boiler plants, HVAC, and Air Handling Units, as well as managing maintenance in sterile environments such as cleanrooms and eye-drop production areas. The role requires driving energy and water conservation initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum N5 Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Millwright Trade (Trade Tested Artisan).
- Desired: ND/BTech/BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5–10 years’ experience in an FMCG production or manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance management setting.
- Experience with water treatment plants, HVAC systems, and control systems
- Knowledge of cGMP and quality compliance regulations
- Pharmaceutical industry experience in sterile environments is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Maintenance:
- Manage and execute preventative maintenance for utilities and sterile production equipment.
- Collaborate with contractors for specialised tasks and evaluate key suppliers.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to resolve recurring maintenance challenges.
- Provide second-level support for equipment maintenance and breakdowns, including on-call duties.
- Safety, Health, Environment, and Sustainability:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including high-voltage and substation maintenance.
- Promote energy and water conservation initiatives aligned with sustainability goals.
- Oversee adherence to lock-out and work permit procedures for internal and external teams.
- Quality Management:
- Support quality systems like complaint handling, deviation management, and CAPA.
- Participate in validation activities and maintain compliance with regulatory standards (GEP, cGMP).
- Draft and update relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
