Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a commercially driven Key Account Manager to lead and grow a Generics and Pharmacy-focused business. This role is responsible for developing and executing a commercial strategy that builds a sustainable, profitable, and customer-centric organisation across key pharmacy and prescription channels.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a commercial strategy to drive growth within the Generics and Pharmacy channel.
  • Lead and manage key customer relationships across pharmacies, wholesalers, hospitals, and related healthcare partners.
  • Drive sales performance through effective account management, channel execution, and team leadership.
  • Analyse market dynamics and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
  • Manage and control budgets, forecasts, and financial performance aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop sales teams, including both direct and indirect reporting structures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across sales, marketing, and supply chain functions.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales Management or Key Account Management, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in Sales Management, Brand/Product Management, and/or Channel Management.
  • Proven track record of managing people, including more than 3 direct reports.
  • Experience leading teams with indirect reporting lines, managing 10 or more team members.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market, including experience across pharmacy, hospital, wholesaler, and related healthcare channels.
  • Proven ability to manage strategic customers and complex stakeholder relationships, including wholesalers, pharmacies, hospitals, or clinics.
  • Solid financial and commercial acumen, with previous experience managing or controlling budgets and P&L responsibility.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
