BMS / EMS Technician

Are you a skilled technician with expertise in Building and Environmental Management Systems?
Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Technician to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of their building and environmental systems. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives on maintaining compliance, optimising performance, and supporting high standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer BMS/EMS systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Plan and schedule preventative maintenance work, ensuring resources, spares, and tools are prepared.
- Analyse breakdown trends, failures, and costs, making recommendations for improved maintenance.
- Maintain technical documentation, including manuals, drawings, compliance certificates, and calibration records.
- Submit monthly reports detailing failures, trends, and recommendations.
- Support engineering quality systems such as deviation management, root cause analysis, CAPA, change control, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical validation requirements (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Draft and update departmental SOPs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Oversee statutory inspections, calibrations, and quality-sensitive equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Good Engineering Practices (GEP), cGMP, and OHS Act requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Trade-tested Artisan with a National Diploma (minimum).
- Preferred: National Diploma/B-Tech/B Eng/BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 10 years’ experience in an FMCG Engineering/Manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in BMS/EMS.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMS/BMS software.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
