We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our client’s team, reporting to the Senior Technician. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of utilities equipment to minimise downtime and meet production deadlines. As a Fitter, you will perform scheduled preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and process improvement activities to maximise the efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- N3 Certificate – Trade Tested Fitter (Red Seal). Millwright qualification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an FMCG production/manufacturing environment.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in plant utilities maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Pragma systems.
- Familiarity with working in a Quality Management System (QMS) environment is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective, efficient, and safe operation of site assets with minimal downtime.
- Maintain plant availability to meet the production plan and provide 100% machine support.
- Perform maintenance and repair activities to minimise equipment downtime and optimise plant performance.
- Conduct reactive and proactive maintenance, achieving a 90% plan adherence target.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults, ensuring no recurring issues.
- Work collaboratively with Technicians, Engineers, and Technical Support teams to implement continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate and deliver technical improvements and cost-saving initiatives under the continuous improvement programme.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, health, and safety requirements for new and existing equipment.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all operational areas.
