Key Account Manager

Business Development ~ Key Account ~ Sales
Gauteng – South Africa

Are you a driven sales professional with strong experience in managing retail key accounts?
 
Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Key Accounts Manager to develop and manage senior-level relationships with Shoprite/Checkers, while driving strategies that deliver growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This is a high-impact role for a proactive individual with strong negotiation and account management expertise.
 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at Shoprite/Checkers.
  • Monitor sales performance against daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Drive retail sales through paid promotions, ad-hoc promotions, pricing strategies, and in-store advertising/display.
  • Negotiate trading terms and ensure adherence.
  • Manage profitability for the Shoprite/Checkers account.
  • Collaborate with Category to secure appropriate shelf share based on market performance.
  • Communicate promotional activity to Operations to ensure flawless execution.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and maintain updated knowledge of market trends.
  • Accurately forecast sales for both existing and new product ranges.
  • Ensure timely execution of price increases and new product listings.
  • Provide feedback and reporting to senior management.
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric, plus a Sales & Marketing Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Industry & Key Account Management experience
  • Proven ability to manage large retail accounts with measurable success.
