Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Key Accounts Manager for their Prescription Division. This role is critical in creating, coordinating, and executing strategic business plans for key accounts within the pharmacy and wholesale sectors. The ideal candidate will manage commercial relationships, ensure product availability, and drive business growth by meeting sales, profit, and customer investment targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic account plans in alignment with the Prescription Division’s commercial objectives.
- Drive business growth by increasing sales, revenue, and gross margins within pharmacies and wholesalers.
- Manage day-to-day commercial activities, including contract implementation, customer engagement, and participation in meetings and negotiations.
- Oversee expenditure within trade spend budgets and maintain compliance with trading terms.
- Ensure that the company’s products and services are consistently available to customers.
- Conduct systematic analysis of sales reports, market expectations, competition, and industry trends.
- Coordinate and lead negotiations for all business dealings with defined customers.
- Monitor stock levels at key accounts, wholesalers, and distributors, advising on customer inventories.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers, including buyers, wholesalers, and internal teams such as Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing.
- Provide regular performance reports and manage the month-end close process.
- Manage third-party agencies on a national level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales or key account management, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- In-depth knowledge of the Rx pharmaceutical market and strategic customer management in a Pharmacy/Wholesale environment.
Core Competencies:
- Strong financial and business acumen with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence Tools (e.g., Micro Strategy) and advanced Excel functions for data analysis.
- Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and business-oriented skills with a target-driven mindset.
