Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Marketing Lead – OTC to support and drive growth across the OTC division. This role focuses on leading brand strategy, managing commercialisation initiatives, supporting new product launches, and ensuring effective agency and budget management within a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute data-driven commercial and digital marketing strategies to drive OTC brand growth and performance.
- Lead integrated campaigns across traditional and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the annual digital marketing plan.
- Manage new product launch readiness end-to-end, including artwork approvals, listings, forecasting, P&L modelling, and go-to-market execution.
- Oversee agency partnerships, digital content review, marketing budgets, and operational trackers to ensure optimal ROI and execution excellence.
- Drive operational excellence through cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Channel teams.
- Monitor campaign performance, market trends, and competitor activity, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with pharmaceutical legislation, governance standards, and internal operational processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, Science, Paramedical, or a Biological Science-related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical retail pharmacy sales and/or marketing.
- Strong understanding of the South African OTC market.
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence analytics and data-driven commercial decision-making.
- Inquisitive Artificial Intelligence awareness.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation, pharmacology, and good pharmacy practices.
- Experience in managing commercialisation projects and delivering measurable outcomes.
